Air Travel
Several major airlines offer direct flights daily to Asheville Regional Airport (AVL).
The closest major airport is Charlotte Douglas International (CLT), which is located approximately two hours from Asheville.
Ground Transportation
There are buses and shuttle services available from the Charlotte airport to Asheville, although depending on your plans, it may be easier to rent a car.
Downtown Asheville is very pedestrian friendly. In our experience, Uber/Lyft have been very easy to use to/from downtown and the surrounding area.

The South Slope Brewing District
The South Slope Brewing District in downtown Asheville is one of our favorite places to hang out. Catawba Brewing, Burial Beer Co., Twin Leaf Brewery, and The Funkatorium are some of our favorite places to hang out and have a beer. If you visit Hi-Wire Brewing, be sure to check out their Tiki themed speakeasy in the back.
Ben's Tune Up
Ben’s Tune-Up is a fun sake & beer garden in an old auto body shop located near all the spots in the south slope. Try some of their craft sake & Asian fusion menu options.
Sovereign Remedies
Sovereign Remedies has a vintage vibe and is known as one of the best cocktail bars in the heart of downtown Asheville. They also have a full menu, serving contemporary southern dishes with locally sourced ingredients.
Top of the Monk
Top of the Monk is a cozy place to grab a cocktail and enjoy mountain views from their rooftop patio.

Hole Doughnuts
Hole Doughnuts is an adorable shop serving handmade, fried-to-order doughnut and coffee in Asheville.
Sunny Point Cafe
Sunny Point Cafe is a family owned spot for breakfast and lunch in West Asheville. There’s usually a wait, but you can check out The Rabbit Hole, their bakery next door, while you wait! Parking is limited.
