Our Story
How We Met
February 2019
Our story began in Atlanta in 2019 when we matched on a dating app. We connected over our shared love of breweries and travel and eventually decided to go on a date! We met at Orpheus Brewing in Atlanta on Sunday, February 24th. A couple of beers later, we made our way to the Original El Taco for dinner (only because our favorite, Taqueria Del Sol, was closed on Sundays). The rest is history!
Falling in Love
Four years worth of memories later and we’d moved into our first home, checked off more travel destinations near and far, cheered on the Dawgs and the Rebs, and enjoyed attending concerts across the spectrum of our diverse musical taste. Whether trying new recipes and crafting cocktails at home or indulging at one of our favorite spots, we have celebrated a myriad of experiences together over the years.
The Proposal
April 2023
In April 2023, Mitch popped the question in our living room, completely surprising Lauren after a seemingly regular Thursday. Lauren arrived home from work to find Mitch in their living room with rose petals, champagne, and playing Tame Impala’s “Instant Destiny” on vinyl (one of our favorite records, and one of Tame’s only love songs). Our dog, Cali, was excited for the moment too and was running around like crazy. Of course, she said yes! In typical fashion, we celebrated with a trip to Taq!
Our Wedding
November 2024
When we got engaged, we knew we wanted the wedding to reflect who we are as a couple. Having celebrated our first dating anniversary in Asheville, it held special memories. The city’s abundance of breweries, excellent food scene, and craft cocktail bars sum up a lot of our favorite things to do together. Fall is one of the most beautiful times to be in Asheville, and we can’t wait to spend some time with you in one of our favorite places!
